My apologies to XPEC

By far the most expensive soap or cream I own, I loved it when I first bought it, then I developed a dislike for the fragrance, and soured on the performance. I put it away. Didn't use it for nearly a year. Today I thought, what the hell. Why not?

I'm still not wild for the smell, which is tenacious--the only soap or cream I own with a fragrance that lingers in the bathroom for hours. But, my goodness, the performance! A lather monster. The vaunted slickness was present. And the face feel was so great that, hours later, my face feels great. And i didn't use a balm, just cold water then a splash of witch hazel.

I used my Feather Artist Club with a ProGuard blade, did three passes, and it was a wonderful shave.

I'm so high on XPEC I'll likely buy it again when I run out. UNSCENTED.

Glad you rediscovered XPEC. It's one of my favorites, in the original full scent strength edition. I like heavy scent lathers when I shave in the morning, I suspect because they help me wake up. It sounds like you should avoid Meissner Tremonia Strong 'N Scottish shaving paste (aka cream), which smells like a glass of neat aged single malt scotch!

XPEC creates wondrous lather. I agree.

Now the smell of a good single malt I can definitely get behind. Ordering now

I just got my first tub of Xpec last week and I am getting tomorrow my first tub of Pannacrema nuavia. My plan is to use these 2 plus my Savon de moulin exclusively. P.S.--I do want to try esjberg orange also.

Wow, thanks mate - a high compliment for the reviews & luxury soaps/creams thread. I'm glad you are enjoying XPEC! It's certainly a top cream.

The scent really grew on me after a few shaves.
