Eric Johnson covering Hendrix's "Are You Experienced?" (One of my favourite Hendrix songs)
Here's the remarkable thing - When Hendrix recorded the solo, they ran the tape backwards for the master edit. That's why some of the drums sound like "shwoop-shwoop-shwoop". Johnson nails it anyway. Notice, for example, his frequent use of the volume knob to simulate the reverse decay.
