Today I had one of those memories that makes me cringe: I remembered an Easter in 1971 when I was working as an assistant to the youth minister of a church, and somehow I - who cannot sing to save my life, even in the shower - got roped into singing in a church service, from the balcony, all
by myself except for a guitar accompanying me, the hymn 'He is Risen.' I don't know how, but I got through to the end of it, completely mortified.
