Sometimes things have to be stated lest the old forget and the young remain ignorant.  This is not a figurative song; this really happened and was repeated over the ensuing weeks at HBCs.  The lyrics tell the story. It is a story awaiting reprise if one recalls what they did in Zuccotti Park and what they have outlined in the NDAA for us during the incipient economic depression. They did it before and they will do it again, especially to the least of us

I realize this may not be most folks' cup of tea but I actually find it pleasantly soothing.  I enjoy having it play while on the computer or just reading a book or magazine.  I also have Aria and Aria 2, which are in the same vein.

It has been 41 years since Bette Midler recorded this for the movie of the same name and, in my opinion, it has lost none of its punch.

Carlos Cipa released Correlations (on 11 pianos) today and Ive been enjoying it. Each piece is a solo work, the 11 pianos bit is because the pieces were recorded on 11 different piano models, from a Bechstein Grand all the way down to this, the most humble of the lot, a 1981 yamaha upright:

I dont play piano myself, except maybe the most basic of little melodies, but I do like pianos and some of those yamahas have real magic in them

I've been on a bit of a Bobby Bare Jr. streak lately. At the age of eight, he and his famous father were nominated for a Grammy. Here's a classic:

And here are the lyrics:

"The monk at the disco hears the beat
Feels the music but don't move his feet
The monk at the disco says a prayer
For the skinny girl with blond curly hair...
Who forgot to put on her underwear
The monk is at the disco!
The monk is at the disco!
For your soul...
The monk at the disco feels God in soul
As the tall black bartender offers to sell him blow
The monk at the disco has a heart filled with hope
While a drunk white boy spills Jack and Coke...
Across his robe
The monk is at the disco!
The monk is at the disco!
For your soul...
Dancing machines with broken feet
Glamorize their desperate needs
And have no use for what is true...
And I have…"
