That's a really nice album. My parents were big Spyrogyra fans, and I have several of their albums, including 'Morning Dance'. My mother used to claim that it was 'Sunday morning music' - while we were making brunch, after church. Brings back memories.

Imagine this and portions of the Missa Solemnis being conducted by the master personally, virtually completely deaf, ”leading” a massive compilation orchestra in a packed concert hall in Wien! Such is the greatness of Western Civilization under threat and likely to end; what a reign it was elevating man to his zenith.

Have never come to complete resolution with this particular symphony; perhaps am too dour to appreciate the lightness. Irrespective, yet a masterpiece.

One can not help but contemplate if the attendees of this premiere realized that they were witnesses to genius on the threshold of greatness. Although considered derivative of the 1st symphony, can clearly hear the brilliance about to explode in the 3rd. Frankly, could care less as it is in a style beloved, that of Haydn.
