music streaming service

I use Spotify. I love music, but I'm nowhere near an audiophile so I haven't noticed the sound quality being subpar at all. It's good enough for me and their selection is great.

Apple Music. Family plan for $15 month (Canadian $) I get unlimited music for myself, my wife and our two (now adult) children.  There haven’t been any limitations that I’ve found that cause me concern. I can also access my legacy iTunes library. I can download whatever I want for listening in the car or anywhere without using data. I’ve considered Spotify but haven’t signed up. The only reason that I even considered it was that certain podcasts that I liked moved onto Spotify on an exclusive basis. I found other stuff to listen to. Exclusive?? What’s up with that? 

I can't comment really as I don't look for the highest quality output. I like to keep it in the medium range with data usage as a factor. That said, I used to use Napster because of the user friendly features in managing and adding tracks to playlists.

About a year ago I migrated to YouTube Music for a better selection. I still only play at Normal level, so I don't know how good the quality can get. I like it for the selection, including so many live YT concert videos you can play the audio of, straight through YTM. Luckily for me, they've since added some features akin to Napster. So it is getting better month by month.

Just checked.  No smart speaker (Echo/Nest) support, no annual subscription at a reduced rate from paying monthly, and more expensive, even monthly.  For a non audiophile like me it's a non-starter. For those seriously into their music, I can certainly understand its appeal.

I used a combination of Amazon (the Prime Free tier) and Pandora (T-Mobile Ad-Free weekends) for a long time. I watch a LOT of YouTube and recently got sick of the ads. Decided to start paying for YouTube Premium. More for the ad-free YouTube experience than anything else, but the music service is pretty good too. Definitely better than what I was using before.

I'm an indie rock guy and can access any and all recordings as soon as they are released. Download what I want to my Android phone for Android Auto in new car, and change those tunes anytime (which I do often).

Car came with free Sirius XM FOR 6 months. Binned it.

BTW, Spotify has menu item for sound quality. I have 15 speakers plus two subs in my car (2022 Genesis G70) and the sound quality is terrific.

Their apps are definitely lacking, for sure. I've read that their ios app is downright awful.

Agree. We're my day-to-day, move -about-the-house sound system capable of maximizing every bit of sound information and efficiently process it through the speakers, I'd probably hear the difference.

Most of my listening is through Alexa speakers and car audio. (Rarely do I listen to digital audio on my DALI floor standers.) Spotify suffices.
