I remember practicing parts of Finlandia when I was first learning to play oboe, and I had no idea then that it was a sort of unofficial anthem of the Finnish people and had encouraged them during their fight for independence from Russia at the turn of the last century.

Christmas music on classical King-FM radio. But I had to turn it off when I heard The Little Drummer Boy, because it brought back a memory of sitting on one of those lousy plastic molded chairs all night on Christmas Eve in the Atlanta airport many years ago, when I was on my marathon medical school admissions interview trip, stuck there because of weather delays. I heard the song 26 times that night over the airport music speakers.

Originally from 1972 or thereabouts, but also on the 2003 The Jethro Tull Christmas Album
