Three items in the cart, and the total exceeds $49.  Selecting "pick up" shows all three items to be at an address in Lewisville, Texas.  The system is trying to ring out each item individually, one at a time, rather than tabulating it all together.  Something has to be wrong.

Sounds like it's time to contact M&M.

Well, Bill was in this thread earlier on . . . but I did email, and he responded promptly:

When your cart splits like that, it’s being split by vendor which means they’re coming from different locations/sellers… so the extra cart accounts for the fact that it would be a separate order/shipping charge.

Bill @ Murphy and McNeil

If I had an AlphaFrank soap budget, I might hit that $600 VIP free-shipping level. Wink

Murphy's Pale in the Slainte base is really nice.  My default has been to order Kodiak soaps from M&M but, for me, the Slainte base is proving to be better.  I now have Murphy's Pale Ale and Slainte St. James, both in the Slainte base.  Very rich base.  I also ordered my first Aon base soap, Cliffs of Moher.  We'll see how that one is in my next shave.

Surprised to hear that.  Kodiak seems to be the most rarefied of their bases.  All of the Murphy and McNeil samples I have are AON.

Murphy's India Pale comes in Slainte or Kodiak at the present time.  For some reason, the Kodiak version was not available when I put in my order so I got Slainte.  That turned out to be a fortuitous happenstance as I really have been enjoying it.

Here are the ingredients for Slainte:  "Stout Beer, Stearic Acid, Goat Milk, Mutton Tallow, Duck Fat, Beef Tallow, Potassium Hydroxide, Castor Oil, Kokum Butter, Vegetable Glycerin, Shea Butter, Lanolin, Sodium Hydroxide, Kaolin Clay, Tocopheral Acetate, Fragrance, Tussah Silk".

In comparison Kodiak consists of:  "Water, Stearic Acid, Duck Fat, Tallow Beef Potassium Hydroxide, Tallow Bear, Castor Oil Kokum Butter, Goat Milk, Sodium Hydroxide Shea Butter, Lanolin, Jojoba Oil, Fragrance Kaolin Clay, Tocopheral, Tussah Silk".

Stout beer and Mutton Tallow (over bear tallow) appear in Slainte and perhaps make the difference I perceive.  YMMV.

It certainly seems to work in Stirling soaps.  Varen would be a desert-island candidate for me.

Wonder if MM ever experimented with pairing bear and mutton in the same soap.

Wow, I just learned something today! I thought it was only sheep and electric sheep that had mutton. Looks like Varen makes three.

Also noticed that warning on their product page... Wow! I didn't know that either, so I guess I learned two things.

But back to the topic... I concur, the Stirling Mutton Tallow makes the best soap. I use the unscented sheep, and it is my go-to soap. [Image: 11b0794e6eccda2da0c895001fe23858.jpg]
