Shortly after starting wet-shaving, I set up a spreadsheet to track my progress. It has grown into a 20-column journal tracking progress, gear usage, notes, etc. Today I decided to go through the results.

Aftershave: Tie between Fine Lavender Pour Homme and Osage Rub

Brush: Shave Revolution synthetic

Razor: Rockwell 6S

Soap Brand: Mystic Water

Soap: B&M 42

There were a total of 15 “No Shave” days with five of those coming in December.

So what was some of your most used gear for 2017?

I admire your dedication HoosierShave and while I don't think I can match you for record keeping my memory may help me out a little. Since acquiring a Rockwell 6s almost a year ago on the (excellent) advice of Aurelian28 it has become far and away my most used razor, usually with a Feather blade, sometimes a Kai on plate #4. My most used aftershave brand would be Chatillon Lux with Fourth & Pine probably leading the pack. As far as shaving soap goes, I think Barrister and Mann would still hold the lead for most used brand, however, not by as wide a margin as past years. This year for me has been the year of the Wholly Kaw Donkey Milk soaps, Phoenix & Beau and Grooming Dept and my Declaration Grooming soaps are in the running probably at second place. My most used brush would be a H.L.Thater 4125 2 band fan shape I think.

What a great time it is for wet shavers around the world. Big Grin

Razor  |  Mergress XL (9%)

Blade  |  Astra SP (42%)

A/S  |  Stirling Lime (9%)

I had 59 no-shave days in 2017.  I really need to work on that...

Brushes - regularly rotate through 12 to 15 2 band brushes (Simpsons, Paladins, Rooneys, a Thater. a TGN)

Razor- 98% of the time - Weber PH

Soaps - again, nothing domineered. I just use whatever my mood dictates.

Blades - I'm partial to GSB and Feather, but also use Polsilver and several others
