Well, it is a great performer. As are most of the soaps people have mentioned in this thread. The difference with the B&M ( to me) is that it's a lot easier/faster to lather at the cost of greater rate of consumption. A trade off I am more than happy to make. Stirling takes a little more work, but is well worth the effort.

I think it's borderline blasphemy in wet-shaving to not try B&M. lol. Just kidding of course, but it's definitely a must try brand. Find a scent that interests you and give it a try.

I used a whole tub from start to finish. It was a tallow/sea butter/lanolin combination if I remember correctly. It was good, but no better or worse than most of the others out there.

I think you may be missing one of the top performing soaps with top tier scent and scent creativity. If I were to make a suggestion for what to try from the B&M catalogue , I'd say you couldn't really go wrong whatever you picked but definitely one of their permanent line would likely please you - Leviathan, Bay Rum, Chesire, Seville. Of those, Leviathan is the one that I've heard the most comments along the lines of "I didn't like this (scent) the first time I used it but its since become one of my favourites." That was also my own experience with it. I'm also a bay rum fan and B&M's bay rum has a unique twist to it so while definitely a bay rum, its unlike any other one out there. Love that one.
If you do get around to giving a B&M soap a try, please let us know your thoughts.
Cheers,
Marko

There are plenty of soaps available with top tier performance. However, if one is interested in fine scents then B&M is a must try. I know which soaps will deliver the performance I expect when shaving, which means I can simply shop based on scent these days.
