Another vote for the PILS.

I'd also agree with the Raw RS-10 mild plate, but it's too expensive and hard to find for me to recommend.

I hope this doesnt derail the thread but I feel like I'm staying on topic with smooth/efficient razors. To those that have used the Yates M, Diamondback and Karve, what is your preference for smoothness?

I just sat and watched a Paradigm 2020 DB go out the door at a great price but couldn't get myself to pull the trigger on it. Figured I had a Yates and a Timeless already.

The Yates M is the smoothest, the DB is not quite as smooth but is more efficient. The Karve for me either gave smoothness, plate C&D but lacked in efficiency and when I moved up to F&G I got the efficiency but lost the smoothness

Titanium blackbird is my new goto, but you still may experience some blade feel. The HSNO75 is very efficient while maintaining very little blade feel

I’ve never heard of this razor. Can you send a link to it?

Excellent photo!  The Diamondback is a good candidate for low blade feel/high efficiency.  Several have specified the 2020 Diamondback, but the 2019 seems to shave equally well; the 2019 is just not as highly polished.

Ti Blackbird...interesting!
I sold my SS version because I didn't quite rate it in the smoothness
department...the efficiency was top notch.

If the Ti BB is waaaay smoother than its SS counterpart, I might be interested in taking a
second look.

Precisely why I've never tried a Blackbird. To a man, I always hear "blade feel." Beautiful razor, but function wise it does not sound right for my use case.
