Very sad.

I broke my SRD brush scuttle this morning. I've had it for two years and loved it, although I found that the water didn't really stay hot through all three passes.

I just ordered a Moss Scuttle from Sara Bonneyman as a replacement. Have any of you tried Sara's scuttles? Likes/dislikes?

Depending on what size you ordered, the opening can be quite tight if you use a big brush and not as deep as I like. No room to rewhip lather in it like the SRD, at least the one I've tried. They sure are pretty though. Sara does nice work, made in Canada too!

I love my SRD and find it to be the perfect brush scuttle. Sorry to hear you lost yours today. Most times I don't use it as a scuttle but do soak my brush in it, lather over it to catch the protolather and house my brush in it between passes.

I've used mine the same way, that's why I'm not too fussed about the size of the opening of the Moss. I'm planning on using it as more of a brush scuttle than a lathering tool.

I really like the fact that I'm supporting a Canadian artisan. With the swing of the Canadian dollar, there's not enough of a price difference between the small Moss Scuttle and the SRD.

I have a Sara Bonnyman Moss Scuttle and absolutely love it! I bought the large slate version and use it every morning with all my brush sizes right up to my 30mm silvertip. Perfect as a brush warmer but can easily be used to bowl lather with a smaller brush.

She offers a well made product along with great customer service.

I believe Sara is in Nova Scotia but maybe they are referring to Newfoundland. They are all small provinces/islands on the West Coast of Canada.

@Bruce, I believe both Nova Scotia and Newfoundland are on the East Coast of Canada, not the West, along with Prince Edward Island.

Happy2 It's all good.  I hate when folks type "your" when they obviously mean "you're."  Guess what I accidentally typed the other day. Blush
