More Medjool Dates

Ready for the freezer. I've been tempted sometimes to eat them while shaving.

If you are a connoisseur of dates, I would urge you to seek out the date variety called Ajwah.

If you have a Middle Eastern market in your area, that's your best chance for finding them.

They are relatively tiny compared to the medjool variety, darker, have an intense, creamy and nutty texture.

You might try Goodies Market on Lake City Way, they may have it. Also get a Zaatar flatbread while you are there.

churchilllafemme , you freeze dates? I thought they kept well at room temperature because they are dried. If you are into dates, Flying Disc Ranch has many varieties and sells them mail order.

The dates I buy from California are juicy and moist, not dry, so I think they last much longer when frozen.

I've had them spoil when left in the refrigerator, so I freeze mine also. They don't really freeze.
