After months in the razor drawer Ι used my Monocero Husaria yesterday night.

It was the best shaving for me so far, even beter than any Carbon (any plate)  or Rex or Blackbird and any other razor I have tested so far with the only exclusion of the Rex envoy which fits perfectly my preferences but still remains too aggressive some times. Monocero Husaria managed to erase this occational aggressiveness .......such am unparalleled harmony of smoothhhhhhhhhhness and effectiveness which made this balance unbeliavable to  me and how the artisan managed it.

BBS with one and a half pass even at points of my bace on which every other razor has found difficult to deal with so far.

I do not care of blade gap or exposure, this razor made me forget all this paremeters. This razoe left only the enjoyness and effectineness for me!. Not too many plates and spend nights and money in order to choose the right one for you, no endless correspondence with the artisan, just ...one plate, one handle... and this razor offers the oprimum !

It is not a heavy advertised razor with a strange (but very beautiful) handle and stand.  Some would characterized it bulky in the first glance but this prooves what my best friend and a veteran in wet shaving says to me:  do not have an opinion just with the first look and based on appearance before you try on your face.

No reason to have this post other just to say that there are artisans out there who know to make razors and do not envagelize about it !.

When I recollect the price for this make-to-order 316 L ss razor (waiting for at leat one month to be made for you)  I just do not believe it.

I believe the Monocero Husaria was a project of a shaving forum in Poland and it was made by one of the members who has a machine shop, with input on the design from the forum membership. It appears that there are still some of the open comb model available on the Monocero website, but the solid bar and dual comb ones are gone. I think it was a total production of 100 altogether. The razor design is intended to look like a knight’s lance, and the razor really looks great with the way it sits in its stand.

I have been living in Warsaw, Poland for the last four years and so it was a razor I thought would be nice to own as a memento. Here is mine (open comb).

Ι thing if you contact directly the artisan via the facebook page of Monocero Husaria and agreee with him. This is what i did in the past to order the razor...it took him about a month to make it for me.

I also recolect he is nice man to communicate with.

I have the brushed closed comb but I thing he may can polish it if you like.

I was able to order one after contacting him. It was the only one he had available but said he has (I think) 28 more being made and that would be it.

The only one he had available was open comb and I don’t even know if I purchased polished or brushed! I really didn’t care.

I would buy polished if possible and if the difference in price is not high. when I ordered mine there was not the polished option. the price is excellent however but try it with several blades to find which better suits you. this razor change character with different blade but always shaves well. very very well....
