Bar Well but comes under different names. Here's the new one. All repaired (2 issues) and buttoned up. Working and 1 pound of Brazilian done. They're simple and cheap units but I like how it works and for $70, hard to beat.

I’ve got a Miss Silvia, it does a decent job. That grinder looks special. Do you weigh the beans before grinding? I just looked online at niche zero and that looks like a quality machine and NO GROUND COFFEE RETENTION!!! That’s one of my least favourite things about virtually all grinders. I’ve got a baratza virtuoso and a Rocky and they both do that. I use a cordless hand vacuum to clean them out and it’s occurred to me on occasion that it’s just unacceptable. I mean, whether it’s yesterday’s coffee or I’m switching bean varieties between shots I don’t want old or other coffee mixed in. So does the Niche Zero work as advertised? I saw it listed (sold out) for 449.00 Euros which is a lot of money but worth it if if actually does what they say it does.

Yes I weight out the beans before grinding. The Niche does do a very good job with retention, the few times I've checked it's been 0.1-0.2g or less. So far I'd say it's been well worth it, and it's surprisingly not loud, it's still loud, but less than any other grinder I've used. They do monthly "drops" via their Kickstarter page, so keep an eye on that if you're interested. I had extremely quick shipping, less than a week from the UK to the US east coast. Be aware shipping is another £50.

I don’t care for Starbucks and the best thing to be said about coffee from Costco is that it’s cheap. Here’s some Guatemalan beans I roasted last week. Very vice

I would try Rod’s coffee but being North if the border and the shipping times the beans wouldn’t be fresh by the time they made it to me. Sad

I agree that one of the best things you can do for your morning cup is buy fresh beans and grind them right before brewing with a burr mill grinder.  Another thing you can do is keep your coffee brewing equipment and carafes scrupulously clean otherwise that great coffee you put in will come out tasting like office coffee.  The Techni Vorm coffee machine is excellent for many reasons not the least of which is that it comes apart easily so that every surface that touches coffee can be washed in the dishwasher.  I have been using the pour over method of brewing for a few years now and its even better. I've pated in a youtube video of Thompson Owen of Sweet Maria's demonstrating the pour over method.  Its excellent.  Thompson is Maria's husband (sweet maria) and is a coffee savant.  I love good coffee - its more than a caffeine delivery system.  Kuerig is the cartridge razor of coffee - billions of those little plastic pods end up in the landfill every year and really, its not great coffee.

That’s awesome Marko  Happy2 I haven’t roasted my coffee yet as I been quite busy usually buy my fav at Costco and some local stores..will look forward roasting some very soon.. Happy2
