I'm too lazy to work at making coffee, but this afternoon SWMBO and I got out to a café for the first time in months.
I had them make me a "Shot in the Dark" - a shot of espresso in a pour-over dark roast.

I do enjoy the odd shot in the dark now and then - when serious eye opening is required.

I’m used to it and I just have the one cup usually. Any other coffee just doesn’t match that first one. I reckon if I’m only going to have one cup of coffee it may as well be a good one.

I'm sure the process gets quicker when you get used to it too. As I said it looks great !

You can make coffee as complicated as you want. Like shaving. Best way to up your coffee game is first get decent brewing and grinding equipment. You don’t have to break the bank but quality pays for itself. Next, keep that equipment CLEAN. Coffee has oils in it snd oils go rancid and rancid coffee oils is what office coffee tastes like. Next, find a source for quality fresh roasted beans (unless you roast then you’re the source) snd don’t buy more than you’ll consume in a week. The beans have to have the roast date on them and today is a good date although within 3-4 days is ok. If there’s a distant best before date on them then find a different source. Finally, grind right before brewing and enjoy. You can experiment with different brewing methods too.
