I was checking out Mike's website earlier this morning and saw a new scent or, at the very least, it's new to me....Jasmine.  The description says "A pleasant floral scent; faithful to the real thing."  Seeing as how most of his scents are already in the den, I felt an obligation to go ahead and make a purchase Smile .  I know the base is fantastic but has anyone tried Jasmine?  Any comments/notes on the scent?

HS, I like the musky, dirty scent accord. And the white floral Jasmine has it the most...

Jasmine, however, might be the dirtiest. A quick survey from my favorite sniffer sites followed below... and by the way, i have one puck I use in the early spring [MW i think]. Good catch as Mike's base is great.

WHITE FLORALS ARE DIRTIEST.
White florals are just that - white. Gardenia, Jasmines, Hyacinth Tuberose, Orange blossom and her bitter brother, Neroli all fall into this category of being extremely rich in indole. However a few other friends in the flower kingdom also hold trace amounts of the compound, such as rose, lilac and honeysuckle. ***************

The essences of Jasmine, particularly the variety Jasmine Grandiflorum, is notorious for having a noticeable, STRONG indole note ( most jasmine oils contain around 2.5% of the pure stuff ). By no means do it smell like sniffing a toilet, but when faced with a pure jasmine oil, indole does bring a very noticeable wet- mustiness, much like dirty, sweaty skin mixed into the narcotic floral-sweetness of fresh jasmine blooms. Jasmine's aroma is characterized by its complexity, featuring green, fruity top notes and a hint of spice.... harmonious blend of sweet, heady, and sometimes green facets.

I have Mike's Jasmine and I like it a lot. It reminds me of the note from the jasmine incense sticks my dad had when I was growing up, and I've been trying to find an incense like it since, to no avail. Until then, I just get to shave with it!

I'm not sure when the soap came in...the Mrs & I forgot to check the mailbox for a few days during the Holidays.  But, it was there yesterday morning and ready to go for today's shave.  The scent is really nice, just a straight up jasmine that fills the bath room with a wonderful aroma

Would anybody know of a good jasmine aftershave balm? Could be any brand name.

While I don't care for the consistency of this balm, the best jasmine scented one that comes to my mind is Eufros Dama de Noche. It's an excellent jasmine scent.

Thanks. What about the consistency if off to you? Too thick, too thin, ingredients separate?
