Merry Christmas to you also Andrew, and to all my other shaving friends and anyone whose eyes see this ! Peace on earth to men of good will!
BTW, I'll see Pat tomorrow to give him his lather catcher.
For us Christmas isn't a biggy. We just buy what we want throughout the year and don't need a special day for it. We also follow the wifes tradition of opening gifts on Christmas Eve. But I thought that an item I wanted to compete in Pistol Caliber Carbine was my Christmas gift this year (and still do), but the wife asked what I wanted for Christmas so I suggested a gift that we both benefit from, a Chefs Choice Trizor XV knife sharpener. She also got me a bottle of 18 year old Chivas Regal, but a bottle of better scotch has been traditional since our first Christmas together. We both agreed on a joint gift of a new Vita-Mix as our present V-M has many years of incredibly hard use on it. We have yet to act on that.
BTW, I've converted all of our daily use knives over to the 15° angle with the Trizor and they are now much sharper and slice and cut incredibly. I'll never sharpen a knife at the European/American 20° angle again. The Trizor XV is worth the price. Shop around if interested in one. The wife had me buy it for myself because I know how to use the 'net for shopping and I got it for well under the suggested retail. I'd like to find brand new unsharpened knives and sharpen them on one side like a traditional Japanese knife. But if I want that I'll probably need to just buy a Japanese knife (and keep everyone else away from it).
And I'll leave everyone with this, be sure your speakers are on and turned up:
