Menlo Shaving

I received my tracking number this morning! Menlo has also posted on Instagram showing the shipping labels and handwritten notes that he will be sending with the razor.

I also received a tracking number; a 30 digit tracking number starting in 4.  It doesn't look like any USPS tracking number which I'm familiar with.  I suspect he's using a secondary forwarding company.  I don't have an Instagram account, so I can't view any of that stuff.  Looking forward to receiving the razor though.

USPS does have tracking numbers that start with 4. It’s just the longer number version.

Mine has arrived at the USPS distributional center and is in transit to me. I noticed in his Instagram post that shavers from elsewhere around the world bought one.

My Menlo Nealon is here! Not much time to photograph this evening, so some quick shots. The polishing is excellent. Two areas of the razor have what look to be intentional bead blast texture: 1) both side of the cap and base (I suspect for grip) and 2) the end of the handle (some shavers rest the handle end on their pinkie and this surface should aid in slip prevention). I will shave with it tonight. The quality is there. The head is actually lightweight, weighing with a razor blade installed around 27.7 grams; total razor weight with razor blade installed is around 98.5 grams.

Mine arrived also, and I shaved with it this early afternoon.  It was a damn fine shave in just one pass.  No nicks, no scrapes, no irritation.  I used a new Feather blade, which seemed a little sharp for this razor.  Next time I'll use another blade for comparison; maybe a Nacet or a Polsilver.  Mostly I'm satisfied with this razor.

Love it!  Beautiful razor, draebeard, and sorry to slightly derail the thread (okay, I'm not really, my love for the movie is too much for me to resist!)
