The first of two Feather cartridge razors has finally arrived from Japan.  They were inexpensive enough that I thought I'd give them a go to see how I might like them for travel and to rate them against the Gillette Fusion Flexball (battery powered model), Schick Hydro 5, and Gillette Guard cartridge razors, all of which I use (or have used) when traveling.  This SamraiEdge, like the Gillette Flexball, can pivot side to side as well as up and down.  The cartridges are three bladed rather than five.

I had to see what all the fuss is about, smells great

I came home to a pretty nice haul

A Valobra stick and a Semogue 1470 boar brush, with some Silver Blues to go along.

I got a custom razor handle made from an elk antler by a craftsman named Ted Abernathy. It came with a Gillette Tech head.


I plan to use it with my two Delta Echo Feather AS-D2 heads.


But just out of curiosity I might also try it with the Tech base plate and a Delta Echo AS-D2 top cap.

I am on an AOS Tallow binge...
