Today, I had my first shave with the other new scent from Martin de Candre.. The Absinthe.

It comes also with the new, modified label.

The conclusion from the first shave. Very tasty. The generally subtle fragrance has a clearly perceptible absinthe note.

The fragrance:

The second new shvaing soap from Martin de Candre is even more delicious. However, you shouldn't expect a fragrance explosion here either. As is typical of MdC, it is rather subtly perfumed, but the absinthe scent is clearly there.
The fragrance evokes creative freedom and boldness and is invigorating and fresh. The drink absinthe is appreciated for its bitter, green and aniseed-like flavour and is also known to stimulate the imagination and creativity of artists, writers and poets. This comes across beautifully in this RS. The fragrance base is closer to the MdC fougère than the original MdC. Of the two new ones, I like this one better.

I don't need to write anything about the foaming qualities like cushion, gliding properties or ghost lather and aftercare, as with this shaving soap is a typical MdC.

Thanks for the insights! A new mdc scent is not something we see often. I look forward to trying a sample of this one soon.

As I have come to expect, your fragrance descriptions are almost poetic, and I am still mesmerized by that bowl.

Thank you very much. I try to do my best. It's not so easy to find the right words to describe a fragrance in a foreign language.

The bowl is fantastic. A new level of quality of lather for me. The inner surface treatment of the bowl helps a lot, as well as the handle head with the golf ball look.
I still think it could be a bit bigger, but it fits most of my brushes well.

I use and enjoy MdC Original, Fougère, Rose and Vetiver on a regular basis.  I was excited when I saw the email announcing the two new scents in my inbox.  Upon reading the notes and descriptions of the scents, however, my excitement began to fade.  I wouldn’t feel comfortable ordering a jar of either of the new scents without first sampling it.
