Yes I did Matthew. I'll let you all in on a little "secret". Go on Instagram and follow @oleoinsiders. There you'll find instructions on how to see a hidden page on their website with different scents and soap bases!
Thanks for the information! They published the Periferia label on their regular Instagram feed some time ago, and I’ve been wondering what the deal was with that, since it never showed up in the (regular) webstore. Now I know. Smile

I believe that’s the last batch of Aphrodite that Dr. Jon’s made. Why is it often so tempting to get something when you know it’s discontinued? (In this case, I haven’t yet folded, but the temptation is real — especially after reading some very positive comments about the scent.)

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

I didn't realize it was Dr. Jon's last batch of this soap. I just liked the description and the current soap base is excellent so I figured what the heck, I haven't lathered it yet but it smells o nice off the puck that I can only imagine what it will smell like in lather. Go ahead and get it. You know you want to Big Grin

My friend, Mike, does incredible work with reknotting.  Add to that the surprise gift of two shaving soaps and I have hit the jackpot. Big Grin

Great looking brushes, Freddy!

I'm curious what your thoughts are on the scent of B&M Jacinthe?

I'm trying to temper my excitement with only one quick shave completed. But, could this be the one that is the RAD-killer for me?  A contemporary razor?  Really?  What about my vintage razor collection?

OK.  OK.  It's only one quick shave.  I must remain calm.   Big Grin  Big Grin  Big Grin  Big Grin

I used it for this morning’s shave and, first of all, Barrister_N_Mann continues with some of the finest performing soaps out there.  The Jacinthe was easy to load on my synthetic brush, felt wonderful on my skin, and was completely non irritating, something that I almost take for granted with a B&M soap.

I really like the scent but I am terrible at descrpitions.  To me, it’s not overly sweet, which one might expect from the listed scents, and yet it is not a leather, tobacco, heavy scent, either.  Somehow, there is a pleasant balance that I quite like.  This is going to sound off but I almost detect the beginnings of a subtle chocolate so, Will, if I’m completely off base, I apologize.  I finished off the shave with some of hawns‘s Chatillon Lux La Quatrième Ville Toner and I thought the scents of the soap and toner complemented each other nicely.

Again, I am not very good at describing scents but these are some first impressions.

Thank you for your thoughts on the soap, Freddy! Your comments are exactly what I was looking for, just your initial impressions.

I don't have what I would consider a "sophisticated" nose. For me, it's usually, "Smells good!" or "Doesn't smell good!" Although, I like to think I'm learning with the wonderful scent profiles produced by both Barrister_N_Mann and hawns. It's a great time to be into wet shaving!

Enjoy, Freddy!
