I thought, hey, why not just dream out loud for a second, who knows, maybe one of the artisans on here might get inspired???

The rules: describe a scent you want, but currently cannot find

If I could make my own, there would be cedar and frankincense. I've always loved the smell of those two and think it would be an awesome combo. What's yours?

I saw TSE's review of the Hoppe's #9 soap and aftershave, sounded intriguing, but alas when I saw it they where already sold out.

I wouldn't mind a Ballistol flavor with maybe a little bit of woodiness in the mix, maybe a little burnt gunpowder smell too. (rather have smokless powder smell than BP; BP reminds me of fireworks) Would be a great reminder of great days on the range and the matches I have lost due to my own ineptness. Lol

What I wouldn't do for Chanel's edition Blanche shave soap. That scent is intoxicating.

I get sucked into these posts on Facebook. I've heard some pretty crazy stuff. It's fun to create a novelty type fragrance, but IME the novelty wears off quickly and you'll stop reaching for the fragrance. And no artisan wants that.

That said, some artisans like myself and Eric at Dapper Dragon will work with you on a custom scent at a minimum order.

I would really appreciate a scent clone of D&G The One or Burberry Brit Rhythm.

Can you make customized scents of designer fragrances?  One complaint that I have (err, my wife has) is that the cologne clone soaps never are youthful fragrances.  It is common to find Creed or Hermes inspired soaps while soaps based off of the fragrance of other designers such as Burberry and D&G are non-existant.

Why not find out if it's an awesome combo?

It depends a lot on what I can find, or alternatively what you would be willing to pay. (I could get a sample analyzed and a dupe made of practically anything, but it would be $$ once you figure in the cost for analysis plus the supplier's minimum order of a one-off fragrance.)

I could, in fact, do you aversion of The One. Send me a PM if you want to talk details.

Eric
