I received a box full of razors this evening.

At top is a Simmons Keen Kutter 5/8 full hollow, that the seller was generous enough to throw in, gratis.

Next row is 5/8 Wade & Butcher Special, 6/8 Torrey half hollow, and Lee MFG 9/16 full hollow.

Geneva Cutlery 9/16 full hollow, Case & Sons K-sol 5/8 full hollow(another freebie)

I ordered a Wostenholm & Sons which was inadvertantly left out of the box, and the Wade & Butcher is, unfortunately, cracked, but the seller was very quick to offer to ship out both the forgotten razor and a replacement W&B. At the price point, I was willing to take it as is, because I still felt like I got a great deal on the rest of the razors, and the seller had already given me 2 freebies. Above and beyond, for sure, so I will definitely be doing more business in the future...

BadDad, the Case & Sons was a freebie?  Outstanding!  It looks to be in really nice shape as is.  You're starting to accumulate quite a collection! Cool

Right place, right time, I started talking to the right person...

The Case & Sons is in really nice shape. There is one spot of semi-active rust that is far from the edge, and will clean up OK. I don't know that I will be able to get it to shine like the rest of the blade, though, but I don't mind some character...as long as I can get the rust cleaned off, I actually prefer these blades to wear their age...

Wow! Score! You're getting a nice collection going Chris! Do they all need honing or were any of them shave ready?

Nice! You're going to keep doing posts like this and the next thing I know I'll have a straight razor.

My thoughts exactly! That Lee MFG in particular has me on tilt.

None of them are shave ready. I checked each blade under the loupe first off, and they all appear to be in very decent shape, except the W&B which is cracked. But aside from being in decent shape as regards the metal, they all need to visit the stones for work. Next on the list is the Torrey 6/8. She has a bit of a smile, which is very visually appealing to me, so I'm gonna work on her next and see how she responds...

They are all in very decent shape, though...no major chips or uneven hone wear, no visible frowns or warps, all lay flat on the stones, and all the geometry looks and feels in order, so each will be put to the stones in turn, and shave tested...

At $12 each, shipped, I couldn't be happier. And the guy has thousands...literally...

I should be getting a replacement W&B and the missing Wostenholm as well in a day or two...

Not ebay. Facebook. No bidding wars, just "how much?" followed by a response. Met through a mutual "friend" in a straight razor honing group, started talking, and made a deal. I am undoubtedly going to be buying more from him. Good guy, easy to work with, and excellent quality for the price point. Next time around, I'm going to get some bare blades to rescale as well...These ones have decent scales in place, so just need cleanup and possible repinning along with a fresh edge...

Beautiful, Chris.  For someone who is into straights for less than a year, you are getting quite a positive reputation, and well deserved, too, I might add. Happy2
