Maggard Synthetic Brushs and knots

I am about to change out knots. I will document and post a thread. Basically I cut of any remaining bristles from old knot, dremel out the old glue knot, mix and apply epoxy, and place knot. Let cure ... Viola!

Does emerging the handle in hot water could loose the epoxy holding the knot?

Same procedure I use, except I get most of the knot out with a Forstner bit and then dremel/drum sand opening.

For anyone else wanting to restore a brush, it is quite simple with a few hand/power tools. The biggest piece of advice I can give, USE VERY LITTLE EPOXY.

Less is better when it comes time to glue the old knot in and only apply glue to the handle opening base area. Watch for epoxy seepage when inserting knot and clean up immediately. At least that is what I do.

I have to say, that Maggard Purple Swirl is pretty sweet.

All evidence has been buried. All tapes have been erased.

I agree with keeping the epoxy to the minimum.

The marble version arrived in our household. It is very nice. Will have to post some impressions soon. It is wife's. So I will have to make sure to get it from her for pictures. She did mention not having to reload to finish her legs.

Are you guy's using marine epoxy?. I always use Loctite 2-part Marine Epoxy.

Gorilla glue's epoxy. Been running my daily driver for 5 months with this and no problems so far.

I just bought the 22mm. Black handled brush and a 2 ounce container of the Dr. John's Green Monster Shaving Soap. It has Lime, Sweet Basil, and Peppermint in it.

I might have to pick up one of the brushes. that 24mm marble handle is pretty wicked looking!
