My base is still soft, but I've been experimenting with lye ratio's and water discounts to help firm it up a touch. Still soft, but you guys might notice some difference in softness across the past few releases.

I prefer it as well, but I'm trying to firm it up due to heat waves like the one we are having now. Last year a few soaps melted in transit, so I wanted to firm it up a bit to help prevent that!

There's nothing good or bad about softer bases per se, just a personal preference that the heavy tub loader in me doesn't really appreciate.

I find most, if not all alcohol free aftershaves leaves my skin feeling sticky for 30 minutes or so. This includes MacDuff's aftershaves. Once you get past that part I really like MacDuff's aftershaves.
