I had written on the Lupo 127 bar (closed comb) and thought it one of the best aggressive razors I have ever used, smooth, nice blade feel giving a wonderful shave (blades Polsilver- Russian or Polish- Wizamet Super Iridium, London Bridge), I usually shave daily sometimes switching to every 2 to 3 days. I enjoy a good aggressive razor of cause when it doesn't irritate my skin (my rotation Wolfman 1 96, Asylum Rx v2, CG series 1 L3 OC, Gillette 1918 Army J series, British Streamline Gem and others)

I have used the Lupo127 open comb now for 6 shaves and in my opinion this is an extraordinary razor, and I don't say this lightly. I am in my upper 70s and have been wet shaving since 16 and I wish this razor in the closed or open comb, especially the OC would have been available when I started shaving.

Aggressive razors are a strange breed no 2 razor are alike, some are horrible, very harsh with no thought in blade exposure and angle, not comfortable or having shavibility. An aggressive razor needs to be tested not once not twice but many times to get it just right for daily or every other day shaving.

I have read many people say "ride the cap", that is not an answer that will help anyone with this type of razor. !- The way you shave with an aggressive razor is to adjust the angle through feedback, finger feel and more angle adjusting feedback. Your beard will tell you through the razors blade (sound-feedback) what angle to be used until the feedback is almost nonexistent. Do not press hard you will take off a layer of skin or worse, you have to be very respectful of this type of razor.

This razor gives me that extra 10% that none of the other razors that I have, have given me. This razor gives me an easy perfect BBS shave every time, I get the smoothest and closest shave I've ever had in 2-3 passes, This razor is as close to a straight as any razor I have ever used or owned. But let's not forget that a good soap and blade are needed. For me if I use a lesser blade then what I like or a soap without the cushion and glide this razor would be a totally different animal.

What else is extraordinary about the Lupo 127 open and close comb is the price. I have razors up the wazoo from $40 to $800. that are collecting dust and will never be used again. Do I recommend the Lupo 127 OC?, if your taste is aggressive with a comfortable blade feel, this is the HOLY GRAIL or the slightly less aggressive 127 bar. This is just my opinion.

I have been on the fence about this one. I have the 127 SB and the .95 OC & SB. So far I have gravitated away from the .95OC to the SB. I have to dedicate more usage to the 127 SB. I had wanted to order this with the Superslant L3++OC, but funds are not there at the moment. The Lupo series IMHO is a no brainer. Price/performance (PLUS 316L!) is off the charts. And you have a nice choice of handles also, you are not locked into just one.
