I noticed Greedos is a different base than my other LJDJ soap Brihuega.  I get no tingle or numbness from Brihuega but plenty from Greedos.  I like Greedos scent better and I think the base is possibly better.  But I’m trying to see if anyone else has this or maybe I got a batch where the hydroxides ran a bit higher, changing the Ph a bit.

Greedos:

INGREDIENTS.

Vegetable stearin. Beef tallow. Shea butter. Refined Duck Fat. Glycerin. Kokum butter. Jojoba oil. Coconut oil. Castor oil. Goat milk Wheat Germ Oil. Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Grape Seed Oil. Lanolin. Premium fragrance. Rhassoul. Water. Sodium hydroxide. Potassium hydroxide.

Brihuega:

Ingredients:  Beef Tallow, Vegetable stearine, shea butter, kokum butter, jojoba oil, coconut oil, castor oil, camellia oil, lanolin, glycerine, premium fragrance, green clay (bentonite), silk protein, spirulina, water, bland potash, 125g
Not that I’ve noticed but then I’ve been called insensitive in the past! Smile

I have no experience with Gredos. Like you, I was attracted to Charmer because of the duck fat listed in the ingredients. I used a sample of "Space Apple" (same base) yesterday with no problems. Much prefer the scent of Charmer.

If you are sensitive to certain ingredients, I would strongly suggest you order a few samples from TRC. The cost $4.99 for a 1/4 oz sample. Well worth the price, especially if they prevent you from making a mistake. I just checked and Charmer samples are available. Just for your own peace of mind, you may want to get a Gredos sample as well. It only takes a small amount in a lathering bowl to produce an excellent lather. TRC provides excellent and speedy service. I have experienced no problems. However, I apparently have no issues with the ingredients in any soap I use or have used in the past.

Good luck!!  Will be thinking of you   Smile
I have a full Greedos, uses it today.  Also have a full Brihuega.  The Greedos did give me the sensation of numbness/tingle.  Absolutely none with Brihuega.  Also have a sample of Good Company so I’ll try it.

Quite intrigued by a few bases and scents but not crazy about the feeling I got from Greedos.

Yeah, I have about 4 samples loaded up from TRC in my cart of others to try… but need to look at the bases and scents  a bit closer to see where to go.

My luck is thin, like the hair on my dome :-)

Have a good day!
Is it uncomfortable or harmful or just weird?

Marko Slightly uncomfortable, almost like a numbness.  I have to try it again, today was my first shave with it, definitely from slickness, cushion and post shave it is stellar, a top performer.  Yet I had a slightly uncomfortable feel from the soap, which I would call tingling/numbness.  I can also whip some up and try it on my inner arm later, etc... and its only in Greedos that i've noticed.

Is it a tobacco leaf or a pipe tobacco type of scent?

Any hints of sweetness?
Yes, it sweet  I would consider it a tobacco pipe scent.  The main ingredients are tobacco, honey, paprika, and cherry.

I had my first whiff of Charmer a few minutes ago.  I was sure I had smelled this scent before, but I still can't put my finger on where, when, or what it was.  All I can say is "Wow!!

Oh, and thanks to all you enablers out there. Smile

That’s interesting. I’ll look for it next time I use it. You’re not having a stroke are you??

Possibly… but in reality I have some super sensitive skin.

Dave in KY also had an issue with it.  Possibly a bad tub, but the $35 and not being able to deal directly with the manufacturer means I won’t waste the money a second time

I had the same issue with Rodrigo de Jerez. Just a mild numbness/tingling. Ended up trading it for that reason. It was a sweet tobacco scent. Performance was great and I loved the scent.

I’m guessing it’s the fragrance oil.  The base seemed great, but I’m known to be sensitive to fragrance oils.
