I used this one today. It’s really nice. A “gourmand “ scent. I think that means, while it’s hard to describe, you kinda want to eat it  Big Grin

I’ve been thinking about the lathering if this soap and I would say it takes a little longer than average to get to the target lather. It seems like you’re smearing hand cream around the lather bowl for a while then, bloom!  Or boom, you got lather. Several of the latest generation soaps are like that, for me in any case.

Interesting observation. Anecdotally must concur although hadn't considered it sufficient to make comment hitherto.

I didn't either but then I thought that maybe some are unfamiliar with the phenomenon and not continuing to work it past that point - it harkens back to the time when there was lots of discussion about soaps, croaps and creams and what constituted a croap vs a soap or a cream or if it was even really a thing.  Maybe next time Ill stop at the "hand cream" stage and see what thats like to shave with.  It doesn't look like it would be too dry.  I think some guys have called it "proto-lather" rather than hand cream.  Stay tuned.

TommyCarioca  hw does that one smell?  Its the only one thats available at Top of The Chain that I haven't got...yet.  The scent notes didn't do it for me.  I know...I can't normally make a connection between the listed scent notes or almost any soap and what they actually wind up smelling like to my nose. This! Especially soaps as complex as theirs. It's a (expensive) crapshoot without a local store. I've been on the verge of trying Greedo, as it sounds sweet and dessert like... But you never know.

That settles it... We NEED more local shaving stores.

Marko - it is a very creamy fig. A first cousin to Dyptique Phylosikos, and the L'PA Fig. If you don't like those fig scents, then pass.

I think sweet and dessert like is a good description. If I was sticking my pinky finger out I’d call it gourmand. It’s got duck fat in it too to make it even nicer. I just got a package with a Greedo  aftershave in it.
