Lesser known soap makers

You guys ever go outside the soap box and try some soaps that you dont hear or read about on the forums and groups?

I have tried a few, one in particular is Bearded Jacks Soaps, i had the cherry vanilla tobacco and it was great, scent was amazing and the soap works flawlessly, good cusion and glide. I just ordered thier Kentucky Bourbon and tobacco im sure its going to hit the spot. Also they are very affordable, 5 bucks for a refill puck.

Give The Sudsy Soapery a look. I've only seen a couple mentions of them on a forum, and it was the same poster. I have two of their scents. The scent and performance are excellent, in my opinion, and their customer service is incredible.

I have tried a few from Etsy, around five years ago, but most weren't very good.
I have stopped doing that, now, since I have found the soaps that work for me, but I will, occasionally, buy a new one to experiment with.

I would have no issue trying anything. However, I have also discovered that if a product sold gets little play, then there is probably a reason for that. If it were fantastic, there world would know about it.

I guess someone has to be the first to try these new soaps and bring them to the attention of the forums. Thanks for accepting that responsibility

I think on some cases, there are some that just havent gotten good exposure yet, if the product works good then the proof is in the putting, and i think it just needs to be descovered.

I would agree- some don't participate in the forums etc. and aren't generating demand. I like hearing about these diamonds in the rough.

Personally, I have had good success trying soaps although to be honest I don't "hunt" much anymore. Just pick up new/different scents from those that are part of my normal rotation.

Having said that, I recently picked up Mason Boutique. It gets some play online, generally positive. I was very happy to have purchased as it is a great performing soap. Scent is light but that's another thing.

I have tried a few small time Brit artisans. Probably the best was Dr K or I think Homemade Soap Company!

Nanny's Silly Soap is very good, but not hyped here in the US because it is English and only sold by Bullgoose here. Another is Van Yulay, which is very good and makes two soaps sold on Shaving Shop Online. Her other products are only available on her site, which charges a blanket $18 for shipping, which just isn't practical.

Peter's SnS soap (forum member "scritchnscrub" elsewhere) is one of the best soaps I have tried.

I believe he makes it in very small batches and not even sure if he sells it.
