Leaf Razor Review

While the awkward handling has me restricting Leaf to head shave duty its results are pretty spectacular. I don't really like it's cart like feel so I use it mostly for pickups where it's pretty unbeatable.

I wish they'd make the handle thicker on the leaf and the head a touch smaller, then I think it'd be an excellent shaver.

Report on my wife’s Leaf that is probably two years old??? Anyway, the Leaf uses a tiny screw to hold the blades secure. Great system. Works well. But a guy doesn’t want to reef on the thin screw much in fear of stripping it. Anyway, of late I’ve noticed that the screw is backing out when she uses it. Inspection shows everything still seems to be ok and this must be incident to its age. I put some beeswax on the threads and it seems tight without having to over tighten and it’s staying put so perhaps if others have this issue a bit of beeswax might be your answer.

I like this razor. It’s like a cartridge razor but better with your choice of DE blade. The pivoting effect is not as firm as I would like. It would have been better if was designed for two blade edges instead of a three allowing a smaller head. I used a ‘Milkers Cushion Grip Plier Handle Cover’ on the handle so as to make it thicker and grippier.

Plier handle cover......  Great idea.  And I’d concur that a two blade would have been a great idea.  I have to find a place for the half blade left over when I load her razor up.  2 blade would have eliminated that.  Over all  though I’m very pleased with this razor.

I had my first shave today with the Leaf razor.  I purchased it for head shaving but this first shave was on my face to get a feel for it.  It provided a fairly close shave in a short amount of time.  Was it challenging? No.  Was it fun? No.  But I think it will be just the ticket for head shaving.  Right now I shave my head about every other week mostly because the time involved.  I first use a clipper to quickly cut my hair and then after a shower I have been shaving with either a DE or SE razor.  I anticipate I may start shaving my head every 2 or 3 days with the Leaf.  I bought it used, and think it will be a good purchase for my intended use.
