Mike, I have found no decrease in efficiency with the Tithena.  Its weight is perfect as Latherati said and that makes the razor even more maneuverable.  The Athena is at the top of the razor world for me, and the Tithena is the best of the Athenas.

What’s the best way to clean the bronze Lambda razors?  Would a soft bristled toothbrush used with hand soap cause fine scratches to develop over time?

I usually go with matte razors and don’t have any experience maintaining a high polish razor like the Ares.  Appreciate any advice.

I am away from home, but I seem to remember toothpaste being mentioned. I will verify that when I get home if someone else doesn't beat me to it.

I found the best way to quickly and best remove patina is a product called Flitz. You wipe it on and then wipe it off with a microsoft cloth. The razor comes back to new.

Flitz is the answer. Toothpaste can be abrasive. I would never put toothpaste near a razor, especially a mirror polished one.

Just to answer the specific question...soft bristle tooth brush and a gentle soap after each use. Pat it down with a microfiber cloth. I leave them in 3 pieces on the counter.

The bronze is going to turn colors just from the moisture in your bathroom. The frier you get it after cleaning, the longer it will take to turn colors. That has been my experience with any alternate material razor. When the color bugs you, a pea sized dab of flitz is all you need to perk it up.

Flitz also private labels microfiber towels. They are great. Get 2, one to clean, one to buff. I never try to wash the cleaning towel. Just move to clean spot in the towel until it is no more, throw it away.

If you want to get anal about it, chemicals from a typical wash cycle in your machine, will leave residue on your towels. They make car care product to wash microfiber cloths to eliminate this concern, if it is a concern.

Hopefully, this helps more than my first post.

Got my hands on a V1 Ares. First shave was fantastic with a Feather. It cuts close enough that I think a milder, smoother blade will be the ticket. Great razor the V1.[Image: 41d0bbda2ab8f67b4440a13f238c93f2.jpg]

Theodoros has the best finishes on razors that I've seen. Yours is a beauty. Congrats my friend.
