I think there is no intention to sell many Athenas in Ti, it should be very limited and special version, so I can understand price. Price tag cool down demand to reasonable numbers and focus attention in direction of much more accessible usual version which is probably easier and faster to produce..

It was 550 EUR when I posted last week.  

The 50 Euro price increase would be more than the cost for all of the raw material Ti needed to make a razor.  

Granted machine time is longer to machine Ti and it is harder (to machine), but that did not look like a polished  razor to me and if it’s matte or a blasted finish, it is a lot less expensive and time consuming on that end. 

I get it, he has probably worked through a lot of the demand for Bronze and  so this has repeat buyers.

Aside from the supply and demand calculus, I still see Bronze as the best option for most buyers.

Titanium is softer than stainless steel.  That said, it has a higher strength to weigh ratio. 

I read that Ti is harder to machine because it is more reactive and it will weld itself to the tool

It looks polished to me, and the boxes made of different materials according to metal type actually look quite cool. The black oxide finish, in particular, is impressive.

Does anybody know how that stainless steel one is made black and if it might fade or such in the future? I can't see where it says the process involved.

bronze remains the best choice

the prices of the SS versions compared to the bronze ones are really high
Athena 350 Eur

To each his own.  I have the SS Athena and love it.  I especially like the minimal maintenance.  I am looking forward to getting the SS Ares, even though I have the bronze.  I am a fan of the SS versions.  More expensive? Yes, Worth it?, to me, absolutely.
