Somebody might cancel his order from the waitlist.
I think we will have more availability for next batch, if he fulfilled all waitlist orders.
Prefer to wait for comments rather than order Ares now.
I also got 7 razors lately, still thinking to order New Razorock Slant and New Rocnel Elite. Also wonder what Blackland will release.
Don't have any rush.

I do love the shave the Athena SB gives me so I am curious how the Ares V2 shaves.

I finally got around to using my Ares today. I put it to work on 7 days growth with a GSB.

It is deceptively smooth. Surprisingly little blade feel. It lulled me to sleep, then reminded me to treat it with respect. I had an ingrown hair on the underside if my shin a couple weeks ago after using that Gibbs remake. The Ares capped the remnants.

9 hour BBS before the whiskers popped back up. It had no issue with the amount of growth and rinsed with ease, even with cold water.

This is a very nice razor. I'm glad I finally found one. I am still curious about the V1 tho.

LOOT what would you say we’re the biggest differences from the Athena to the Ares, besides the open comb vs no open comb? I’ve seen a lot of folks saying they believe the Ares to be the more efficient of the two.

It has been a while since I used the Athena and I've only used the Ares once...but I want to say I got a 9hr shave out of it. I ride the bar tho. A lot of cap riders seem to think the Athena is mild. 9hr BBS isn't mild at all. That is perfect daily shaver territory to me.

Gut say the Ares is noticeably smoother. No toothy feel at all. The rounded guard seems to have aided. It glides with somewhat muted blade feel, which really surprised me.

If a side by side would interest you, I will load them up.

Right now, I prefer the Ares. Both are excellent. I still want the V1 Ares because it is likely right up my alley. I would pay well for one. An open WTB. Smile

Is the Athena mild or a 9 hour bbs, or is it  both, I kinda got lost on that one.

I was just saying as I recalled, the Athena left me at about the same 9hour mark...while I have read others (presumably cap riders) felt it was mild. To me, staying smooth for 9 hours isn't a mild shaver. I disagree that is mild, in short Smile
