It was in stock at the time of my posting, but the Lambda razors generally do not last. They sell out quick and it is also sold out on the Lambda website. I don't think many are made at a time.

I have the brass or bronze version and it's so mild it hardly gets any use. Same with the Ares. I should part ways with them at some point.

According to their website, the blade gap is 0.34mm with neutral exposure. I know that never tells the whole story, but I really can't imagine it being anything other than mild with those specs. I love the look of the Ares and almost bought one, but if it is super mild it may not see the usage it should from me. I'm guessing what you have is the bronze.

I have the bronze alloy version as well and have been a little underwhelmed with it. Granted I have only had a couple shaves with it but from all the reviews it sounded like a crazy efficient but super comfortable razor. For me it’s just been very very mild. I’m still giving it a chance but I’m with you so far.

My best suggestion is to considered the blade you are using with it. Something that mild could really perk up with a super sharp blade. You can refer to RayClem Blade Evaluations as a guide. See where the blades you are using fall and what may be a sharper choice. Obviously personal results are subjective and YMMV, but it is a good guide to refer to. For me, I agree with some of the blades he considers sharp. If you have them, I would try a Bic Chrome Platinum, Wizamet, or King C. Gillette. I get great results in my "milder" razors with these.

Outstanding!!! I didn't even make that connection!!! I have used that blade and a variety of my razors ranging from mild to wild. My results in all of them have been great. It is a sharp blade, but it is also very smooth. It makes for a very comfortable shave, even in a more heavily efficient razor.

I like aggressive razors. On paper, I shouldn't like the Athena but I love the thing. I run them steep and get great shaves out of them. For me, it has a fairly narrow angle but once you lock it in, the razor cuts surprisingly close (6-8 hr bbs)

Sharp blades help. I like a Feather.
