If anyone was showing grace, it was the OP. He showed enormous grace, not mentioning the seller at anytime; not even giving a hint as to their identity. That was showing Grace.

I never said that you treated the artisan unfairly. What I was indicating is that you could have shown him some grace. Grace is treating someone better than they deserve to be treated.

RayClem we all understand the meaning of the word and what it is to have ‘Grace’, you don’t have to continue to try and explain what it is. What I’m saying is that I believe that I have already shown ‘Grace’ by not smearing this persons name or their businesses name all over this thread. You say that “Grace is treating someone better than they deserve to be treated”. To me this suggests that I have in some way treated this Artisan poorly, and I don’t really understand how that is. How would you suggest I treat this Artisan better? How have I done this Artisan wrong? Are you suggesting that I should continue to give them my business?

You also stated that “Our society would operate much more smoothly if we would be quick to forgive rather than to judge.” I’m not holding a grudge against this Artisan, I just don’t want to do business with them anymore based upon how this situation was handled. I don’t feel like I’m ‘judging’ this Artisan either, the situation was handled the way it was handled. Is it unfair of me to not want to do business with them anymore? I’m thinking you have missed the entire point of my thread.

This makes me think of what old Matthew used to say-

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye’, when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”

The only course of action that seems to work promptly with errant retailers such as these
(and I do it with all—since I have NO grace whatsoever—LOL) is this:

Immediately open a dispute with Paypal under the requisite reason: item not as described, or not
received. Just see how fast they get back to you! It's miraculous. Saves me all the to and fro emailing
nonsense as well.

Confused2 I dunno ... Suppose you went into a brick and mortar store, you can't see a lineup (if there even was one), you don't/can't see any staff, and you had to stand there and wait three days to get a response about a purchase you wanted to sort out. I'd be a little bit upset.

Sounds like you’ve been shopping in Canada!  To be fair the Canadian online shaving vendors and artisans I deal with are excellent but generally Canadians are just so used to being shabbily treated at brick and mortar retail that the retail shopping experience when visiting the US can be so startling as to be almost frightening. They actually seem happy to help you buy their things. Helpful, cheerful- all things that just don’t happen in Canada.

This is laughable. Given the information they provided, anyone who follows this artisan on Instagram (which admittedly I know you probably don't) would be able to figure out who it is pretty easily.

I Instagram quite a bit these days and have no idea who they were referring to.

The information provided in the original post was that they were having issues with a "prominent" artisan who was "Re-releasing" a scent.

This could literally apply to so many different artisans!?

TheHunter  doesn’t work for the Artisan/Merchant/Vendor, he sent her/him his monies, she/he now works for him

You work for ME when I pay you

1/ Minimally get my order out in a reasonable amount of time (Reasonable meaning within 2 business days)
2/ Get the order right which means READING the invoice and auditing the contents before sealing parcel

Truly, there’s a minimal amount of expectation when when I purchase from your business, the 2 things I mentioned are my VERY FIRM minimal expectation

Tell me where I need to treat that business owner better than they deserve to be treated? Hunters issue simply boiled down to those two requirements did it not? F FOR FAIL

Hunter, if you’re reading this, was shipping complimentary or did you pay for it?

Vanilla beans along with re-releasing a scent from last year and non-alcohol splash were the key pieces of info. If you follow this artisan I shouldn't need to spell it out any further.

On another note, I think it's so hypocritical that some of the same people in this thread bitching about waiting more than two days for a reply or for their orders to get shipped have seemingly zero issue with another artisan (who is popular on this forum) taking 2-3 WEEKS after taking payment to ship orders. No complaints. As a matter of fact they get praise and repeat orders. The double standard really boggles the mind.
