I dunno ... Suppose you went into a brick and mortar store, you can't see a lineup (if there even was one), you don't/can't see any staff, and you had to stand there and wait three days to get a response about a purchase you wanted to sort out. I'd be a little bit upset.
You are comparing different things but that's ok. I'll bite. When you visit a store, it is highly unlikely not to see anyone. Who runs it? Is it a self-service store?
What if someone gets a few days off? Is he obliged to view his emails and respond the same day? I don't think so. However, when I take some days off, I use to view my emails regularly via my smartphone due to the nature of my profession, but let me say this is not a good habit because you simply never get a rest. Being an artisan is certainly not a "job" that requires such attention if I may say.
Anyway, everyone hates to get ignored but it's always better to get a late reply than never getting one. We don't have to share the same opinion on this or any other matter.
