I'm trying my first L&L soap. Maggard Razors had Mayflower back in stock so I thought I would give it a try. HoosierShave warned me about picking up the 6 month free shipping with them. Second order this week.   Big Grin

I just had my first shave with L&L Grooming from a sample Matsilainen gave me. Thank you Matthew! The soap is excellent, as most are already aware.

You’re most welcome, and I’m glad to hear this. After all the great shaves I’ve had with these soaps, I knew I just had to “spread the word”. Smile

I am trying to remember the last time normal handled Declaration Brushes were released. Does anyone recall?

Can anyone share any tips on getting my L&L tub of shave soap to firm up? I am thinking of giving it some air for a couple days but I used a brand new tub yesterday and during the loading, the soap kept getting moved around and made it a bit fussy to load enough product. None the less, the shave still went fantastic.

I let all my new jars of L&L air dry for at least 5 days. I live in the desert and that really helps to firm them up. Loading the brush is immensely easier when I do this. Good luck.

Use a stiffer, wetter brush when loading L&L soaps... Much easier that way. Soft brushes tend to twist up in the sticky, thick proto-lather.

It may sound counterintuitive but I've actually found L&L loads nice and easy after a slight bloom. It softens it up and makes for easier loading and it isn't so sticky. I've tried to dry it out and even after a few days it didn't change much so I decided to soften it a bit instead.
