king cobra second

i've been using a cobra classic for a while and love it. i just picked up a king cobra second hand. i had a great first shave but i'm concerned about the razor. there's a lot of play in the safety bar even when a blade is in place. is it supposed to be like this?

If remember correctly there was some play when I owned one
