Received the replacement razor today. Upon pulling the razor out of the box, there was a puck of their holiday punch shaving soap which was a nice touch. The box still doesn't have the label on it. The new razor does not have the same rattle when latched close which is great. However, the left side of the base plate is lower than the right side making an uneven blade line. I'll try and take a picture of both next to each other.

Looks like they will both be going back on Friday for a refund.

Sorry to hear about your King Cobra frustrations. Got an idea on what the refund money will go toward?

I'm thinking a Thater 4125/2 2-band bulb and some Tim's soaps to try out.

I had one on deck and at the last minute decided to pass. Maybe it was a good decision. I've got wonderful razors and I'm not eager to have one that is both pricey and causes any anxiety. Others are very happy with theirs, I'm sorry yours turned out to be duds.
Enjoy the Thater!

They seem like a simple design, but they are not simple at all. Some moving parts for sure. I have a Classic and two KC's. I'm very happy with them, but it does take time and, I dare to say, skill, to make it work IMO.

To me is one of those razors that you indulge with it. If you are in a hurry, this is not the most suitable razor. It can bite and it is very unforgiving.

The razor is design to have a play in it, but if you are one of those that like to play with the blade, then it is not for you. I found out with this razor, you load the blade and move on. And it will take more than just a few shaves, a couple of shaves will not tell you anything about the pros and cons of the razor.

It is not for everyone for sure, but it is one of my favorite razors ever, and I have a nice repertoire. :-)

I was able to take a photo before I boxed up the razors and sent them back.

Razor on the left was the replacement that was sent.

Can't quite tell if mine is the same or different either but good luck on the return Jerry. Mine also arrived in a plain brown box, wrapped in bubble wrap. No info, instructions, etc. Pretty straightforward I suppose but did think it odd that there was no info on loading a blade, etc.

I had also contacted customer service as mine had a "pit" or imperfection on the head that I didn't expect on a razor at this price point. Not sure if I will make a stink but it did and does bug me a bit.

Yeah, not acceptable IMHO.

For the amount of money these razors costs, I would. IMHO it is unacceptable to pay that much for a razor and to get one that has a slight defect.

Somewhat tough to see, particularly with cell image, but that bright spot is the aforementioned pit in the finish. I had held off on actually using it as the CS department had forwarded the image to the owner for review but went ahead and broke down. Either way, will see what happens and do agree that it was unexpected.
