Is aluminum more adhesive than stainless steel? I often see dynamic vibrant colors on aluminum offerings but very, very little in the case of stainless steel.

Thought about opening a new thread but, all the good stuff is here and every other variation of the Karve razor is under this thread. Anyhow, I was contacted by Chris from Karve about a week ago as I had inquired some time back (April Fool’s Day time frame roughly) if he ever considered producing different plates other than the one’s offered at the time, I’d be interested in obtaining a set up of my specifications. In his email from last week he relayed to me that he had some pieces ready and that he’d give me a quick chance to order the set up I wanted. I told him what I wanted and two days later I had the invoice and ordered. The kit was shipped out the door yesterday and was in my mailbox today. I’ve beaten this artisan up some time back and perhaps deservedly so but, I will say that the man was courteous, polite and very communicative. His customer service was impeccable and without fault. Honor where honor is given and credit where credit is due. Nevertheless, I am not blind nor do I turn away from the fact that there are still issues related to his business and in how it is run. I hope he is able to overcome those obstacles because honestly, the man makes a bad ass razor.

Looking forward to putting this one through its paces. I don’t believe it will shave any different from any of Karve’s other offerings & alloys. I do love Copper though…..

FWIW that's one of the best posts I've read in a long time. Good luck with the goods.

I received my E, F, and G copper SB plates from Canada to Florida in a day! I already had the April release set.

AMAZING service and awesome copper razor set.

E & F in both configurations even though D-OC in the Brass is the best for me as a daily as it offers a nice combination of smooth & efficient shaves. Going up a notch or two with the Copper plates I think won’t sacrifice much in comfort while increasing cutting ability for shaves that have a few days worth of growth. I think anything past F would be for heavy course hair growth and I almost never allow more than a week to pass to get a shave in. Perhaps in the future I’ll try a G plate just for giggles and see how that works…..

I keep thinking about getting the copper set. For me, the G plate SB and the E and F OC plates are the best. I have all of those in aluminum, stainless steel and brass.

The G is great. Specs wise and even the feel is similar to the WR2 1.35.

But the E SB in aluminum with the 4” handle is fantastic. I’m a big fan of the brass (in other razors too) but I think the Karve benefits from the lighter weight. The aluminum finish is top notch, hard to believe it is Aluminum.

I bought a brass Karve off a forum member a couple of years back. Had a D, and an E plate. I ordered an F SB, F OC and a G SB cause a man of my caliber needs the most aggressive plates possible.

Come to find out I like the E the best !  Big Grin
