Most, if not all, other forums I've been on have random threads scattered throughout. Finding threads on a particular razor in the search engine will give you dozens. Here at DFS they are all in one place.

So it is not surprising that negative posts continually show up. I don't recall seeing any negative posts in the Wolfman, Charcoal, or Blackbird threads. I suspect Karve's business model is the reason there are 'so many' negative posts in this thread.

Could be that DFS tends to have a single thread. Mood just seems a bit more intense here.

Again I'm not defending Karve. I too think they have a big problem. I do however think that some of the recent comments assume too much or are altogether irrelevant.

While I agree with the substance, I jest with you personally JimmyH because for about 20 pages straight you posted the same general comment over, and over, and over without adding anything new. And now that you have a $100 credit (you're welcome by the way) you're going back to Karve for more abuse, like a glutton for punishment! It's all in good fun though.

surfboat  thanks for the clarification 'all in good fun.' I'm fine with that.  Smile
That said, ... I'll stick my neck out and say that in posting on the well known shaving forums since 2007 I've never foul mouthed a vendor until this thread. In terms of the frequency, I really don't remember specifically, but I certainly vented my spleen multiple times.

In my defense ... I waited 3 months for a polished razor that was supposedly in stock when I ordered it on Black Friday. After awhile a fellow gets burned up and vents occasionally. Then, out of curiosity going to the site to see if there are any announcements or updates, and seeing all sorts of razors and parts listed as 'add to cart' ! Really got my goat.

It is true that even after I changed my order and received the standard SS razor/plates I joined in with others, piled on and criticized Karve, but that was stimulated by sympathy for my fellow forum members not receiving their polished order.

Something like seeing some guy on youtube flaunting his shiny new polished ss Karve pours salt into the wound. Christopher Bradley giving the $100 CAD discount code is an admirable gesture, and with the Ti drop I'll take advantage of it.

I emailed them following the announcement and asked if the razor would be "in stock ready to be shipped," and they responded that it would be, and would ship the following day.

This time if I don't see it on the way from Edmonton within a day or two I'll go the refund route, shake the dust off my feet, and move on, never darkening Karve's door again.

You're free to start your own threads on any topic you want - try to keep it to the broad categories but if you want to start a thread about a particular aspect of Karve razors or Wolfman then there is nothing requiring you to stay in the existing thread.  I find that some of these threads get monstrously huge and virtually impossible for someone just joining to read thorough and get all the history so there is bound to be repetition.

With the polished stainless steel, I honestly wanted one and almost pulled the trigger, but i didn’t trust that Karve would deliver in a timely manner so I sat back and waited to see what would happen (if all went well, I’d order one)... When we discovered what the reality was, I was initially relieved because I went with my logical thought process/decision making (avoiding purchase given Karve’s history) instead of going with my impulsive side (as I’m sometimes known to do lol)... Yet, I became upset with the situation even though I wasn’t personally involved... I was pretty angry to see a company continue to be dishonest and take advantage of their customers. But I must confess, if and when these titanium razors are not shipped in a timely manor, I just imagine myself perhaps laughing out loud because at this point, knowing what we know and yet still trusting and ordering from Karve, well, I guess it’s just pretty comical to me. With that said, I hope you guys get your razors, seriously I do. But they won’t be getting my money that’s for sure.
EXACTLY, I'm stunned at members that posted over and over their dissatisfaction with the company and how dishonest it was and now saying they'll try for a ti razor. If and when it falls thru, PLEASE keep your whining to yourself.............They'll NEVER see another penny from me

Friend of mine ordered a brass razor 10 days ago, still hasn’t shipped. I chuckled when he told me.

10 days isn’t shit. It literally took them 6 weeks to ship mine.

Let’s see....order a Titanium Karve for $250 on May 1?.......or a Blackland Tradere for $265 on May 2? That’s a no-brainer! My money is going to Shane.... not the “common thief” who many here continue to support with their business for some reason.

Tradere releases on May 2 put it says 4-6 weeks to ship though. Based on track record, definitely seems better to go for the tradere. I'm probably going for neither of them. I would prefer a titanium razor but don't want to get burned by them.

The Tradere is a pre-sale. Everyone knows that because Shane makes it abundantly clear. Unlike Karve, where they lead you to believe you’re ordering an in-stock razor, only to find out you’ve unknowingly put your money toward a covert pre-sale with an unknown delivery timeframe. I wouldn’t care if the Ti Karve were going to be hand-delivered to me with a bottle of Champagne on the same day I ordered it. I don’t reward dishonest business practices by continuing to give my money to dishonest business owners. Like I said, a no brainer!
