Yeah, honestly guys, it’s kinda crazy that Karve is still able to sell a single razor... The issues are well known! It would make me smile if not a single person purchased that Titanium razor...

The way I see it... Ship me the razor first, let me use it for a while (say 4 months or so).. And if I can get around to it, I’ll then send the money (you see, I have a very busy and demanding schedule as an addiction Therapist which requires my attention) but I’ll try to get the money to him at some point... or maybe not? That seems fair and logical to me... What do you guys think?

I think the other side of this, now that his prices for razors is comparable to artisans, is why even buy Karve?

Does a Blackland shave better?
Does a Carbon shave better?
Does a H&S shave better?
Does a Tatara shave better?
Does a Wolfman shave better?

The market is crowded and a company like Karve may find it difficult to sustain their practices.

Anyway, some nice info about Titanium.
Just to understand what It is inside ...

https://titek.co.uk/commercially-pure-ti...um-alloys/ Wrote:Did you know that titanium is one of the strongest metals on the periodic table? It offers resistance to heat, water and salt and is very lightweight.
One of the main reasons titanium is the preferred choice for so many different industries is that it combines high strength with low density – making it easier to work with.
The difference between pure titanium and alloys is that an alloy is made up of titanium and other metals.
The reason why titanium is mixed with other elements is to provide additional strength, flexibility and malleability.
Titanium suppliers can provide commercially pure titanium and titanium alloys but knowing exactly what you require can be difficult.
To help, we’ve pulled together a quick guide.

Commercially pure titanium

Grade 1 Titanium is one of the softest, most ductile grades. It offers high impact strength and is available in the titanium plate.
It possess great formability and corrosion resistance which makes it ideal for a wide range of applications, including the following:
• Architecture
• Automotive
• Chemical processing
• Desalination
• Marine
• Medical

Grade 2 Titanium is widely used and readily available – offering suitability for many different industries.
When compared to a grade 1 titanium plate, a grade 2 titanium bar or plate is stronger but offers a similar level of corrosion.
The weldability, ductility and formability of titanium bars makes them dependable for applications such as:
• Architecture
• Chemical processing
• Chlorate manufacturing
• Medical
• Power generation

Grade 3 Titanium is not as common as grade 1 or 2 and is less formable – great for applications of moderate strength.
Grade 3 titanium rods are used for:
• Aerospace
• Chemical processing
• Marine
• Medical

Grade 4 Titanium is the strongest form of pure Titanium.
Renowned for corrosion resistance, weldability and formability, titanium rods have become niche in the medical industry, as well as other high-strength applications.
A grade 4 rod is used for:
• Airframe components
• Cryogenic vessels
• Heat exchangers
• Surgical hardware

Titanium alloys

Grade 5 Titanium, like grade 2 titanium bars, is said to be the “workhorse” alloy.
It is the most commonly used grade – providing high-strength and light weight.
Titanium in this grade is for industries to produce technical equipment such as:
• Aerospace fasteners
• Aircraft turbines
• High performance parts
• Sports equipment

Grade 7 Titanium has some of the properties similar to those of grade 2 titanium.
It is mainly used for chemical processing and is found in the components of production equipment.

Grade 11 Titanium, whether it be a titanium exhaust or sheet, have properties comparable to those of grade 1 titanium.
Industries choose this to benefit from resistance against  corrosion and erosion – providing a metal that is long-lasting.
It is used for similar applications as grade 1 titanium but can also reduce acid in chloride environments.

Grade 12 Titanium has the best quality welding, and it is one of the most durable alloys.
Offering high-strength at high temperature, this is great for:
• Aircraft components
• Elevated temperatures
• Marine
• Shell and heat exchangers

Might be difficult to sustain but the reason I picked up the Karve above is I own or have owned all the razors you list and the Aluminum Karve shaves smoother and as close as all of them for me.

The ‘Daily Shavers Kits’ released last Friday are a black anodizing with brighter red plates than the previous Aluminum. Really impressive.

Funny that this was posted today on FB!!!! It took him over 2 months to get "1" razor completed to ship!!!! Huh

So this happened today Smile

I've been setting aside blocks of time to work on just polishing.  I’ve been chasing an orange peel problem on the top of the plate and on the top of the cap for the last couple of sessions, so progress was slow.  And talk about frustrating...I just couldn't get rid of it. And the first razor I polished didn’t have it. Anyways, I managed to figure it out today and everything fell into place...the secret is lots of polishing compound and even more elbow grease.  I still have no idea why the first razor didn't have orange peel.  It could just be that it was a fluke and I'm overthinking it now. This razor will be headed out to its owner tomorrow.  For the rest of you waiting, they are coming. They are tremendously time-consuming, but I have my process down now.  It will no doubt get better and faster the more I do, but I have something that is giving me consistent results.

Thank you again so much for your patience.

Really nice.

I like the Widebody idea too.
Both, the spare parts and the complete The Christopher Bradley Razor.
Unfortunatelly there is not the aluminium version.

On Karve Shaving FB page ? I don't see anything about a Ti razor.

Which FB page did you see this on ?

I'd be interested to know how many are in stock ... ready to ship ... before I even thought about paying for one. Fool me once shame on you ... fool me twice shame on me.

So within a week, or a bit more, I had the SS razor.

I would like to point out that the only forum I have to 'know' whether anyone has received a polished SS is DFS.

I thought you were done with this thread and reminding everyone you got screwed?   Tongue
