I wonder if they’ll ever be caught up to the point where they can produce a brass and SS razor only. Karve are getting roasted on most forums. One can only hope I guess. Why can’t they stick to two materials only? Think about that. I’m a fan, but plastic, aluminum, the mention of titanium, and polishing a stainless which most guys can do at home. Sorry Karve. Madness.

Thank goodness Chris didn’t stick to only two materials.
Own them all and much prefer the Aluminum hands down. Same design but a closer, smoother shave with the Aluminum every time. Remarkable razor.

I feel like light razors lack weight and thus the whole mantra of “let the natural weight of the razor do the work” shouldn’t apply.(02-12-2020, 06:42 PM)woody Wrote: I wonder if they’ll ever be caught up to the point where they can produce a brass and SS razor only. Timeless Ti is a better razor than their stainless in my use as well. Stainless looks great and the weight feels nice but in use the lighter Karve Aluminum (and Timeless Titanium) allow for better control without the burden of gravity. Allows one to add some pressure and practice discipline over a shave. Better finish (for me) every time.

I'm just curious if you consider it a better finish than the SS version. I love my SS 0.68 & 0.95 and use them quite often but have shied away from the aluminum version simply because I prefer a heavier razor.

People so often talk of it as if the material itself lends itself to a better shave, but the talk of the weight difference is likely what is giving people the better shave. Never thought of it like that but your post made me realize the weight savings can make a difference. I need more use with my Timeless Titanium to see how well I like it, but thankfully it isn’t too light like aluminum was. Even there my thoughts are from an aluminum Gillette. Might want to rethink on trying aluminum with a modern razor since Gillettes don’t typically mesh with what I like. Kind of a shame as that’s my last name.
