Long shipping times have been the standard with Karve, even though they promised to mend that issue multiple times.

I was thinking about Karve's polished stainless compared to Blackbird's announcement on the upcoming Tradere. Someone posted in the Tradere thread asking if there were any updates.

The announcement came in July 2019. So here we are approaching February. Six months since work began, parts machined, being polished, but not ready yet. 

I'm not knocking Blackbird, I'm sure they want to get their project to market as quickly as possible, I'm only pointing out the time it must take to achieve that goal. 

Of course Blackbird didn't take anyone's money to finance the Tradere, unlike Karve ... who has our money, and who knows how long it will take ? 

Just thinking out loud.  Dodgy

And lets not forget that Shane has had to reverse engineer the Tradere which goes above and beyond anything that Karve has done and Shane has been very forthcoming with info on the project and hasn't misled or been dishonest in any way to anyone... His updates are available in threads on a few forums and infact I just read an update over on B&B about 30 minutes ago... I'm sure when he gets done with this razor and it hits the market he will have a hard time keeping up with demand but at the same time I'm confident it won't be anything like the train wreck that Karve has been for over 2 yrs now!!

My non polished razor is on its way. Just got the tracking number. Of course I need to wait to see when it moves, but progress at least.

FYI I ordered the Taiga adjustable from Russia and got it in New York delivered in 12 days with $20 for shipping. I do not understand Karve's business model and I know it cannot be the fault of CanadaPost.

I had a Karve Brass with several plates from a BST @ year ago (since sold it) and while I enjoyed it and it looks nice, I don't see it being special enough to put up with what I consider unacceptable business practices. Just my opinion, but as long as people buy it he won't change his actions. TOO many other options and better razors also. Moving on.......

As a Canadian, I know it's not Canada Post. I've ordered many things from Top of the Chain and received some even the next day. The vendor is dilligent in getting things to the post office. 

For those with tracking numbers, this could just be another stall tactic as I know they can purchase and print labels to do all the packaging on site before going to the post office. Who knows how long that could take.

What part of Canada do you live in?  Its 2 weeks for a Top of the Chain order to get to me.  Fendrihan or Italian Barber is the same.  Canada Post not fast.  For comparison I recently ordered some coffee from Mauro online on a Sunday around noon local time.  The order left Bologna before midnight their time same day (had to be within an hour of getting the order) went to Dresdan then Heathrow then Winnipeg and to my front door by mid day Wednesday same week!! Like not even 3 full days. Obviously when you're serious about seeing a global market from Bologna, you put the logistics in place to do it efficiently.  I'm not saying that shaving vendors should do that but being left at the mercy of Canada Post can sometimes be bad for business
