Well... Paradigm's over hyped too (especially from someone who tried only a very small batch of DEs, which I don't understand at all) rawfox1 IMHO. I'll be buying a Karve soon. I really hope that it's better than Paradigm (too too mild for me) !

If You think the Paradigm is too mild I would recommend you just start with the F plate and that may be too mild for you.

Used my new Karve this morning. Bought plate E and had a fantastic 2 pass shave. Very close (BBS) without the slightest of irritation. Smooth as silk. Used a Muhle stainless blade which I think is great and probably underrated.

It's sharp and it cuts. I like it...

Thanks. Simple and straight forward review/impression. I like that. Been debating since day one in acquiring one and always put if off and commit to purchasing other razors. The Misses asked me what I wanted for my B-Day. Guess what? Yep.....

I keep thinking about trying just an E. Wait, a second plate ordered now is a lot cheaper than ordering it later. But which one? Ok, maybe I should get the C & E. Well, might as well get the D too. And an F. Wait, this is silly, maybe I’ll just get the E ....

I'm now four shaves in with the Karve, twice each with the D and F plates. For me, there's no contest. The F plate wins by a mile.
I used to do three passes, daily, when I was working, but now judge a razor by its efficiency in two passes. The D plate just doesn't cut the mustard. The F plate gives a pretty close shave in one WTG pass and does so with a smoothness comparable to the D plate and with very little blade feel. I only intend to use the F plate from now on.

I just ordered the D plate last night with the 3 inch handle. I've been thinking about getting one as a travel razor for a while now and I finally decided to pull the trigger. I'm excited to give it a try, even though I'm not sure if I will like it or not. I usually like a little less gap and more exposure, but the reviews are so good and the price is reasonable, so I decided to go ahead and get one.

Second shave down with the F plate on one days growth. Brilliant shave. For a month the D was so smooth I didn’t know what to expect from the F. No worries smooth as can be. Two passes to perfection. It’s great to have both D and F. They compliment each other well depending on what one wants that day. One to two passes with the F or a bit of buffing with the D.

What’s a high-end razor? I presume that means expensive or hard to get. Who knows.

I have read the Karve is a nice razor for the price but not on the level of high-end razors...like my Paradigm 17-4 and Wolfman WRH7 .74? Sure high-end in price and the 17-4 is a great shaver but the Karve is machined as well as any “high-end’ razor and the F plate (for me) provides a better shave.

Chris will probably eventually go through the whole alphabet of heads. I wonder what the Z plate will feel like Happy
