As an attempt to put things into perspective, with regards to long wait times. I"m currently in the same boat, but with a Rex Ambassador.
Placed my order from Razor Emporium on June 30th during the Big shave East 1 day promotion. A few days later an update, via email was sent to notify us that the promotion was bigger than anticipated and as a result, the current stock had been wiped out and shipment would be delayed for another 7-10 business days.
I just went on the site to check my order status, as I hadn't received any updates since that email and it now reads 'awaiting fulfillment' followed by '(expected release date is 24th july 2018)'

As much as waiting sucks, I'm not too, too bothered about it but this is something that's happening to a reputable, experienced business that already recognizes the demand, has already sold many and probably still has a healthy amount of orders being placed regularly. So you can imagine what a shock to the system it might have been for the karve.

I used the Karve for the first time today.

I have the D plate and 3” Handle

Insanely smooth and efficient shave! Didn’t even have to do my usual touch ups. No irritation whatsoever.

This thing is going to give my usual, go-to daily shaver (Rockwell 6S) a serious run for its money.

The D plate is very similar to the Rockwell’s #5 plate. Plenty aggressive for me... I can’t imagine wanting an E or F plate.

Original bead blasted, polished, and polished with patina.

Cino Can I ask how you polished and aged them? They look amazing. I would just like to understand how much work it took. I just ordered a Karve CB and I understand that I have plenty of time to plan while I wait for production. Thanks.

I used a bench polisher,  but you could use a dremel if that's what you have.   I didn't touch anything under the cap so as to avoid disrupting tolerances. I started with black compound to cut the bead blast.  Then brown compound to remove the scratches left by the first step.  I polished with white compound. Go slowly to obtain a uniform finish before proceeding to each finer grit.

I used liver of sulfur to force the patina.   It's a concoction of sulfur containing oxidants that does beautiful things to copper, the major ingredient in bronze and brass.  Read about how to use it safely because it is an oxidant and also releases hydrogen sulfide, which in addition to smelling like bad eggs, is toxic.

After forcing the patina you can enjoy it as is, or use a mild brass polish to selectively remove tarnish and give the piece a more natural worn look.

Don't use ammonia.  It's too corrosive and won't give you the look you want. I've heard of people sealing the metal in a plastic bag with hard boiled egg yolks,  but I've never tried that myself and I don't know if or how it works.

If you end up not liking the look, it's easy to remove all of the tarnish with a mild brass polish.

Good luck!

I’ve had a Karve razor in the 3” handle with the C & D plates and they have shaved fairly well. For anyone that enjoys a bit of a mild, smooth but with decent efficiency, these 2 will work for you with the D being a nice step up. Now, I received my 3.5” handle with the E & F plates and I got around to trying the E plate in tonight’s shave. Very good smoothness with a slight bump in blade feel and efficiency, but nothing to be scared of honestly. It was a very satisfying 2.5 pass shave that left no doubt that the Karve by CB is a serious contender. I feel as though the Karve with the E plate is what the Rockwell 6s should have been with the R6 plate.

Like I said previously, if you like a more milder shave the C & D plate would be an excellent combo for everyday shaving. Let me put it this way. If your a Rockwell 6s/6c fan you will get the feel of an R3,R4 plate with the Karve C plate, only smoother and slightly more efficient. With the Karve D plate you would get an R5 to R6 feel on the 6s but, again smoother and I feel just as efficient if not more so. The Karve E takes the 6s out of the equation in efficiency yet still shaves as smooth as the the 6s with the R6 plate. Might be confusing but, that’s as best as I can explain it.

Overall the shave was fantastic as the 3.5” handle made a big difference for me. It felt better balanced in my hands and my fingers were properly spaced and just felt more comfortable for me. This is an excellent shave system that is meticulously made with precision that is as close to perfection imho. For the $$$ it’s a real steal for the quality that one is getting. Prices will be going up Gents and if you can jump on one now I’d highly recommend and urge you to pick your handle length and base plates and just wait for some really great and enjoyable shaves.....

I spoke with Chris via email a couple of weeks ago and during that pm chat he mentioned that he is considering raising his pricing due to the fact of higher production costs, as brass has been going up in the global market....

I prefer the F plate with the 3” handle , it’s definitely (along with the Dart ) the best bang for your buck IMHO
