This news makes me very happy. I'm confident I'll buy another plate. The D is pleasant, but not among my most efficient razors. The Karve is truly beautiful, and unique, so I really want this one to work for me. I have high hopes for the F plate.

I agree. The D plate doesn't make me reach for this razor as often as others. When the E and F plates are available, I'll try one (or both) of them.
Otherwise, it may go up for sale.

The shipment has made it to the States. I should have it by mid-week.

I’m just listing these to give a comparison. I presently own a Charcoal L2, Timeless .95, Wolfman .74 (son trying it out), Paradigm 17-4 and had the Blackbird SB. The Karve Plate D is my second favorite (as a daily shaver) to the 17-4. I can’t wait fast enough for the E & F plates.

It’s machined as well as any razor made today. The threads are incredible, as are the fit and finish, and might be the smoothest razor I’ve shaved with to date.

In other words highly recommended.

So the D plate at .98 isn't too much to be a daily shaver, vtmax? I know there's more to consider than just blade gap. However, two more plates with even more gap than that may be excessive. Are there any other razors you can think of that have this much of a gap?

Yes, more like the E for 2-3 days growth. The F might indeed be too excessive.  As a daily shaver the D works for me because of its smoothness.

I’ve read where it’s in line with the Timeless .68 but it ‘feels’ ( for me) more aggressive than the .68 but smoother. Nowhere near a Charcoal Level 3. I found that uncomfortable/unnecessary.

I love the overall size of the razor with the 3 inch handle. I often find the Timeless/Rockwell offerings too bulky. Great fit in the hand.

I just talked to Chris and he is going to get me the blade gaps for the new plates when he is back in front of his computer. He said the plates will be available in about a month if all is well after I give my impressions and others. I love my D plate with a Feather blade. Extremely smooth and efficient. I am really looking forward to the E plate in particular to dial it up a bit. I own all of the high end razors except a BBS-1. My personal favorite out of all of my DE razors is my Charcoal Goods L3 DC with a PolSilver blade. Second would be my Timeless .95 DC with a Voskhod blade and then my Wolfman .74 DC with a Voskhod blade. I put the Karve neck and neck with all of them as far as fit and finish. I put the Shave with a Feather blade just under the Wolfman. Once I get the new plates this week, I think it will move up to be neck and neck with the Timeless. Stay tuned.

I believe the bbs1 has a blade gap of 1mm. The blackbird has a gap of only .58 yet is fairly aggressive. So it's definitely more than just the blade gap.

Just got the E and F plates. Hard to see the difference in pics but once I get home I will compare them to my D plate. First shave will be Friday morning.
