Karve Overlander

I had the Overlander brass but returned it.
It was at the very bottom as far as efficiency: I only do one pass WTG and the Overlander was a huge disappointment, as everyone says it's so efficient.

I'm perfectly happy with shave the Henson Mild delivers with one pass, the point being that I'm not into aggressive razors. The Overlander is far behind it, stroke for stroke.
Also the drag was significant.

This to be honest. Never tried a Henson, but the Overlander is probably the most inefficient razor I've ever used, and yes, very draggy too. Glad I only borrowed it from somebody and didn't actually buy and have to deal with getting rid of it.

I would agree that it's highly inefficient if only doing 1-pass.  However, I typically do a 3-pass shave with cleanup on the chin and the Overlander becomes highly efficient at that point.  Plus, I'm not into the aggressive style razors and the Overlander is a fantastic mild shaver that can provide a great irritation-free BBS shave.  The only time i've felt that it was "draggy" was when I didn't have a good lather going.  I'll certainly have to give the Henson a try though...this is not the 1st time i've heard someone say it's better than the Overlander

Anyone else have experience with a Wolfman WR2 and the Overlander and can compare them?

spatro With the right blade (Gillette Platinum for me) the WR 095 feels like nothing on your face. I have never felt that before with any razor. Its hard to describe but all I feel is a the bar going across my face. That being said, I only have this sensation when I go WTG. The overlander is a completely different feel. You feel the top cap, blade, and bottom cap on your face - and that combo can sometimes give you a draggy sensation with how the skin plumps up and presents itself. I get less of that sensation with a titanium handle. Its currently the only razor that I can comfortably shave ATG (using Gillette Silver Blue). I wish there were more but everyone has failed me in this critical area. As such, I first pass with the WR2 and then do a ATG pass with the overlander and third quick cleanup atg with the overlander.

One pass with the overlander wtg is not what this razor was made to do. As Hossier said, muliple passes and its wonderful.

Over the past few days, I have stuck with the Overlander and Kai SS blade combo.  I'm finding this to be a fantastic duo!  Shaves have been super smooth and 3-passes gives a great BBS result

BTW, that's one stunning brush... Is it Trotter handcrafts?

The Rockwell 6S and Overlander are now my 1A and 1B razors.  And, like you, they both work so well, I don't use much of anything else.  But I think this was the 1st time i've used the Overlander with a Kai blade...definitely the first time i've used the combo for consecutive shaves.  And i'm still blown away by how great it's working.  I shaved yesterday morning around 10am and my cheeks are still BBS.  The chin and upper lip have stubble but it's not bad. 

The brush is actually a Wild West Brushworks and that knot has become my go-to knot.  I have another handle with the same type of knot and those brushes are now 1A and 1B

Ya know, we must have similar tastes in razors. I had a Rockwell 6c but sold it when I bought a 6s. The 6s was good, but not perfect. I sold that and still regret getting rid of the 6c. The design was great and worked quite well, I just liked the lighter feel and polished finish of the chrome.

Someday I might pick-up another 6c. My only gripe there is the whole thing is chrome - even the handle threads. That's a recipe for disaster, IMO.

Razor emporium has an option for the 6s to be polished and plated in chrome. I liked the result very much. 6s durability and weight with 6c smoothness and looks.
