SNMIRN Arrived today, all $6.99 of it, pictured with its Ming-Shi/Q-Shave (top) and original (1985ish Hoffritz) Futur (center).

Cosmetics and feel are fine, magnetic cap works, but I'm a bit dubious that alignment is spot on.

Not exactly a baby, its weight is closer to the Futur than the other Chinese contender.

This will be the family portrait, so to speak. These have all been added since the beginning of April, as a handle acquisition disorder took over. It is slowly abating, as the fever has broke!  These are all from our very own Stubble Daddy with one exception. That exception is the violet handle from Knothead .

Received the blue tip knot from SmilezforMilez (through Murphy McNeil). Was hoping it was like the Maggards black/white knot (just dyed), but nope... Total garbage. The glue bump covers almost half the knot in height, it's stiff as a board and likely only useful as a baseball bat or a crowbar. The glue bump is so wide, it won't fit inside a 26mm socket. Waste of money. I cannot even fathom looking at this and saying, "this is a good item to sell, ship it off". Nope!

I know we talked about this knot Stubble Daddy ... I promised a review. My review is as follows: "stay away, far far away." Lol!

Edit: Added the picture in the shipping tube so the glue bump width is visible vs the knot. That looks like 28mm at the bump. WOW!

Same one used in Cadre 2nd anniversary brush and they said it would break in and was a good knot. Laughable

Sorry Paul, you deserve better.

Thanks Dave.

All I can do is post a review and warn others. The company has a no return policy, likely knowing full well what their selling. Buyers beware.

Glad I only bought a knot and not one of their $80 brushes.

Thanks Eric. I probably was a little harsh, but I truly cannot see how anyone could look at this knot and say "I'll put my company's name behind it". But, different strokes for different folks.

I'm ordering an AP knot tomorrow. They're always quality and it's where I should have gone from the beginning. Might try the Silk smoke flat top. Good reviews for that one.

Sorry to derail the thread everyone.

Edit: I spoke to Bill at Murphy and McNeil today. Regardless of the no return policy, I am getting a refund. Honestly, I am ashamed that I didn't handle it great with them. I did send Bill an apology. He's always been an awesome guy, and I really shortchanged him by not giving him the opportunity or benefit of the doubt first. I need to do better.

The head really reminds me of the Janus. Was the original one similarly designed?

The T1 & T2 are very close in being the same. Differences are more internal with more rigid components (brass, stainless & unfortunately still employing zamak cast components) that were designed to help with alignment and even blade exposure issues. I’ve had no issues with the Original Model T and it actually shaves quite well for me. Internal workings are still doing what they are supposed to so, I think we all get a bit antsy when it comes to zamak/pot metal casted components. I think as long as the chrome plated zinc parts are not mainstay moving components, it should be fine and give many years of decent shave service. All speculative, of course…..

Original Model T in white Chrome, T2 in Gunmetal Chrome finish…….
